Exploring migration experiences of foreign footballers to England through the use of autobiographies

This article examines the sport labour migration of elite footballers who have transferred from another European country to English Premier League (EPL). Sport happens for a number reasons, including financial gain and professional development. With this, however, comes various challenges like cultural shock dislocation. To extend research on migration, data was gathered autobiographies, with ten premier league had one five selected leagues. Results revealed insights into player migratory experience, importance settling in, dealing characteristics new league, need positive support club negative impact media. Findings inform how improve experiences in both other job sectors that require acculturation.
